Kym Adams : (951) 925-1664

Peter Babos is a local Los Angeles native who graduated from U.C.L.A. and attended law school at Southwestern University. His start in business was in real estate and he has been a licensed real estate broker since 1981. He began a successful real estate career at Fred Sands Realtors working in residential sales and new housing development. Peter has also worked in the residential and commercial mortgage brokerage field, and owned and operated his own real estate brokerage and private money lending companies.

After graduating from law school and passing the bar in the mid 80’s, Peter began a legal career in Beverly Hills and was a principal in two successful law partnerships concentrating in business, real estate, corporate, estate planning, and family law. He has practiced and argued cases in state and federal court, including the U.S. Federal Court of Claims.

Over the past 5 years, Peter has become increasingly disappointed in the legal process, and how it was still so difficult to efficiently resolve legal disputes. He became disenchanted with the courts and their inability to manage and control cases (including the heightened risk of going all the way to trial), the continuing high cost of litigation (which most parties cannot really afford) and the lack of empathy and effectiveness in the court’s ability to help settle cases before trial. He saw that with this continuing pattern, attorneys would become more bitter and disappointed with their profession, while their clients would become more and more frustrated with the entire legal process, often blaming their attorneys at the end of the day.

After practicing law for nearly 25 years, Peter has embarked on a third career in the world of mediation. He crossed paths with Kym Adams at a mediation training course two years ago and they have joined forces to become passionate and driven about bringing the mediation process to all who are willing. As partners Peter and Kym have a new mediation vision based on the ever changing demand for dispute resolution that is extremely creative and effective. They are dedicated to bringing this new vision of the mediation world to the legal community and the general public.

Peter continues his practice of law on a limited basis. However, he is now eager about the challenge of providing effective mediation services toward resolving legal disputes which will prove more rewarding and satisfying for all concerned.
